Frontmatter Spec — Releases
What this specification covers
Frontmatter + OpenGraph + Schema.org v1.3 documents a coordinated approach to describing published web content for different consumers. Frontmatter provides structured document metadata; OpenGraph supports the presentation of shared links; and Schema.org describes entities and relationships in machine-readable form.
The purpose is to make metadata understandable, consistent and verifiable across a publication workflow. This page is the release index for version 1.3: it points to the specification, implementation guidance, validation configuration and release documentation. It is not itself the complete specification.
Where to begin
- Read the specification for the documented metadata conventions.
- Use the cheatsheet as a compact reference when preparing or reviewing metadata.
- Follow the end-to-end process for the documented publication workflow.
- Inspect the lint configuration for machine-checkable validation rules.
- Read the release notes to understand this version's documented changes.
This is a versioned specification release dated 15 October 2025, not a claim that all current DBRS r2 processing rules are defined here. For authoritative implementation details, consult the linked release artifacts and their versions.
