The analysis and implementation phases were deliberately closely integrated. Findings were continuously incorporated into various projects: the preXcon presentation, the upcoming website migration, and the context surrounding the AI Mentor Edison, which is currently in production.
The project also examined the extent to which AMMANN Components’ corporate reality can be identified and reconstructed through digital channels. What began as an SEO-focused question evolved into a context-publishing approach: describing existing knowledge more precisely, highlighting connections, and making the published context more accessible to people, search engines, and AI systems.
Initial Situation
AMMANN Components is a business unit of AMMANN AG Schmiede- und Bearbeitungstechnik in Tägerwilen. The company’s actual operations are characterized by manufacturing expertise, technical capabilities, and the interplay of various processes and services. The project began with the question of how well these core strengths are actually visible, understandable, and digitally recognizable on the existing website.
The focus was deliberately not limited to traditional search engine optimization. Information can be found without an outsider or a technical system being able to reliably determine who the company is, what it does, how its capabilities work together, and in which customer situations they become relevant.
Approach: Bringing Together Different Perspectives
The study combined technical, semantic, and human perspectives. Published content was analyzed, search and AI systems were observed, and the results were compared with the company’s subject matter expertise. Comparisons with other publicly accessible corporate websites served as a learning and validation perspective.
Specific comparison results, evaluations of other companies, or rankings are deliberately not published in this reference report. What matters most are the insights gained from this for AMMANN Components.
Research and Work Tools
- Python-based Context Insights tools for the technical and structural analysis of published content
- SEObility for traditional SEO and visibility analyses
- Search engines for monitoring discoverability, categorization, and presentation
- Various large language models (LLMs) for studying recognition, reconstruction, and contextual understanding
- Human-in-the-loop review to provide a technical assessment of the observations
None of these tools was used as the sole source of truth. Measurement data, search results, and AI responses represented different perspectives. They helped us ask questions, highlight differences, and test working hypotheses.
From mere SEO optimization to websites that can be found and understood by both humans and AI
When conducting an Internet search or asking an AI a question, various technical systems work together. How these systems select, weigh, and process information in a specific case is only partially known from the outside.
More about SEO and AI RecognizabilityThe distilled insight
The substance was there. However, not all of the key connections were presented with the same clarity.
Many technical skills could be found on the website. The relationships between them remained implicit in some cases. Someone with business knowledge can fill in these connections based on experience. A new visitor, a search engine, or an AI system must reconstruct a larger portion of this information on its own.
This shifted the focus: away from the mere visibility of individual terms and pages, and toward the digital visibility of the company's reality. No longer content for its own sake, but better context.
Consequence: Make the reality of the business more explicit
For Context Publishing, this meant not only describing capabilities individually, but also clarifying their technical context and their impact on customers. Key questions included, for example: What can AMMANN Components actually do? Which capabilities work together? What is this used for? What are the limitations and prerequisites? And how can these statements be verified?
A clear example is the enhanced presentation of manufacturing technology. Rather than simply listing processes side by side, the focus is now more on explaining how raw parts, materials, machining, surface treatment, inspection, and assembly work together to form a coordinated process chain for components and assemblies that are ready for installation.
Context Publishing, Context Engineering and DBRS
This work resulted in an approach that deliberately separates content from technology and then reconnects the two: First, the reality of the business is clarified collaboratively and articulated in an understandable way. Afterward, the clarified context can be structured, identified, linked, and made technically accessible.
Context World and the Digital Business Relevance Suite (DBRS) support this structured deployment. However, they are not the starting point. The technical structure should reflect the understood reality of the business—not the other way around.
Project Contribution and Role
From Insight to Implementation
- Throughout the project, we continued to collaborate with the existing SEO service provider. The insights gained from the SEO work were combined with the findings and analytical methods developed during the project. The resulting comprehensive overview was provided to AMMANN Components as an additional basis for further planning and specific actions—including the migration and further development of the website.
- At the same time, the existing WordPress website was migrated to a new template. This change, which was already planned, provided an opportunity to directly incorporate insights from the project into the website. These include a clearer presentation and differentiation of AMMANN Components, a redesigned home page, and a more detailed description of the manufacturing techniques related to the company’s role as a system supplier.
- The pages for preXcon were also further developed based on the analysis results. The trade show setting provided a concrete application scenario in which AMMANN Components, along with other market participants, is perceived and positioned by potential customers.
- Development of the basic and advanced contexts for Edison.
Context World and Edison
The new website is being gradually developed into a “Context World” for AMMANN Components. It is intended not only to make the company's reality more understandable and structured for people, search engines, and AI systems, but also to serve as a robust contextual foundation for the digital AI Mentor Edison. This part of the work is ongoing.
For Edison, the findings from the project have already been applied to contexts of varying scope. A compact base context supports quick, general answers; for more technically complex questions, Edison can draw on a more comprehensive in-depth context. This solution is currently in productive use.
Results and Next Steps
What began as a question about SEO visibility evolved into a broader understanding of digital visibility and a practical context-publishing process at AMMANN Components. The results are already being incorporated into the website, trade show presence, and Edison; further development of the website for Context World is underway.
No specific search engine ranking or mention by an AI is promised. What can be shaped, however, is the other side: what information is published, how clear it is, how well its context is explained, and how accessible it is to both people and technical systems.
Guiding Principle
Don't just be visible. Make it as clear as possible who you are, what you can do, and in what context that is relevant.
